The property is located on the ridge of Fitou, a pleasant village in Languedoc-Roussillon (Occitanie), best known for its good wine. In the village there are a few restaurants, a grocery store, local wine producers with outlets and a bar. The beach is 10 minutes by car. Leucate is known for surfing and kiting.
The nearest larger cities are Narbonne and Perpignan. 1 hour and 20 minutes to Montpellier where Norwegian flies directly in the summer months. Otherwise, you can fly to Barcelona and train/fly via Paris.
There are also several options via the UK to Carcassonne, Perpignan and Beziers.
